My tutor has used feathers, crinoline, felt any other suggestions on alternatives?

    you'll have to elaberate more. what type of ethical hat are you looking to make? or just ethical in general? because i don't know what an ethical hat would look like.

    You'll have to define what you mean by ethical:

    Recycled materials?
    Materials that have a low impact on the enviroment that are sourced locally, meaning a smaller carbon footprint?
    Materials which are Fair Trade, eg cotton?
    Materials from sustainable sources?
    Or ethical as in the production (ie not using sweat shops out in the 3rd World – unlikely since you seem to be making them yourself).
    Or a design which makes a statement about ethics?
